This is my sixth year at Rosa Parks and my seventh year in the Mankato School District. I LOVE third grade! Each year I am so lucky to have a group of students who are eager to learn new things and build on their previous knowledge. My students mean the world to me and I am so fortunate to be able to spend each day with them throughout the school year.
I graduated in May of 2011 from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialty in English. My most memorable teaching experience was when I student taught abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico. While there, I completed Spanish classes, taught in a bilingual school, and had the opportunity to participate in many service-learning projects. It was a once in a lifetime experience! I graduated with my master's degree in Reading from MNSU in 2015 and completed a licensure in gifted and talented education from the University of St. Thomas in 2016. I love, love, love learning!
My husband and I live in New Ulm, where he works as a supervisor for a road construction company. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family, traveling and seeing new places, and curling up with a good book!
